How to design a cost-efficient ADAS system?

Due to Autonomous Driving, regulatory requirements & increasing number of assistance features, the number of image sensors & the resolution of these sensors is increasing. Additional to the demand for high-resolution sensors and sufficient power & speed in the centralized processing unit, it results in a higher complexity of the wiring, requires shielded coaxial cables & high-performant communication interfaces to the centralized processing unit.

In the last few weeks we have performed a case study with focus on a Surround view system, which evaluates the cost impact of a next generation communication concept, MIPI A-PHY based.
